This lesson is for crocheters who already know their way around basic stitches and a classic granny square, and want to learn to read a pattern diagram instead of only following written instructions.
You bring a granny square pattern deck, choose a card, and we work through it together, matching the diagram to the stitches you already know as you crochet the square. If time allows, we'll pick a second card and do it again.

This is not a beginner lesson. Please make sure you're comfortable with basic stitches and have made a granny square before booking.
What you'll need
- A granny square pattern deck (see my supplies list) or any granny square pattern with a diagram you'd like to learn to read
- A crochet hook (5 mm is a good size to start with)
- Two or three colours of medium-weight (worsted / #4) yarn
- Scissors
- A tapestry (yarn) needle
- A device with a camera and a stable internet connection
Don't have supplies yet? Any craft store or dollar store carries the basics. Kits will be available from Delightie Crochet in the future.

No, that's exactly what this lesson teaches. You just need to be comfortable with basic stitches and have made at least one granny square before.
Which deck should I use?
Any granny square pattern deck with diagrams works. If you don't have one yet, mine is on my supplies page.
What if we don't get to a second card?
That's completely fine, one card and a solid understanding of diagram reading is the main goal. A second square only happens if there's time left.
